Groundbreaking soon

Our builder, Rob Carter of Southern Traditions, will be breaking ground tomorrow! It will take a week to get the road put in - they have to put a culvert across the little stream that borders the property.

Small stream where the culvert will go so we can drive onto the property
Site where the house will go, looking south
View of the Diascund Reservoir, at the northern end of the property, taken from the access road to the dam
Gorgeous view of the reservoir from the northern end of the property. From here we will be able to launch canoes and kayaks to explore the hundred miles of shoreline that the Diascund Reservoir offers. This won't be the view from the house since we have to site the house about 300 ft from the waterline, but I'm sure we'll be able to see it through the trees.

Closed! We are moved out and ready to begin.

Our house of 26 years has sold and we are moved out! Yeah! Of course we moved during the worst heat wave in ages. At one point the thermometer read 108 degrees! We should close on the construction loan in a week and be breaking ground in the next 2 weeks. Our builder is estimating that we will be done sometime next Feb.
In the meantime here is a photo of the view from the property where we're building.
