Choosing cabinets

Yesterday we went to Mid South Cabinets in Richmond to pick out our cabinets and hardware. We were met there by Elaine at Southern Traditions, who, once again, did a great job in helping us to choose from all the options! We’ll see if we stayed on budget!
For the kitchen cabinets we picked a cherry wood. We also chose the bathrooms, laundry room and art room but I lost track of what we picked for each area. Thanks to Elisa from Mid South for writing it all down! Once I have the quote we will determine the final choices.

 Here is Pete and our car on the driveway looking towards the house site. The second photo is looking back down the driveway towards the entrance to our property. Being able to drive our car onto our own property is a big step for us. For the last 11 years we had to park either on the main road or on someone elses property.

Choosing house colors

Yesterday we went to Shade & Wise in Richmond to pick out our brick, siding, and roof colors. We were met there by Elaine at Southern Traditions, who was invaluable in helping us to choose from all the options!

The colors we choose were:
Khaki Brown for the Hardi Plank siding, Morning Smoke for the brick, Weathered Wood for the roof shingles

Lot Clearing

 Here I am standing in the driveway at the beginning of our property.

 Driveway curving up towards where the house will go on the left. The cleared area beyond the truck, east of us, is our neighbors house site. They started building their house a few weeks before us.

 The back yard. So we will need to take a few more trees down before we can see the lake. Or at least thin the underbrush.

They will finish clearing and grading the lot next week and then will start digging the foundation.
